Live grooves. Open ears. Real players.
Blues, soul, funk, jazz β and whatever else the room calls for.
The Marian Sessions, in memory of Marian McClymont.
A recurring live session where musicians gather to play blues β and whatever else the moment calls for. Soul, funk, jazz-adjacent grooves, standards, originals, and open improvisation.
Built around respect, listening, musical conversation, and shared stage time. No egos, no volume contests β just honest music played by people who care about the craft.
Whether you play guitar, bass, keys, horns, harmonica, drums, or sing β if you can listen and lock in, there's a chair with your name on it.
Organised by Andrew McClymont
"Come through, bring your instrument, respect the music, and be part of the session."
β The Only Rule
Guitar, bass, keys, horns, harmonica, drums, vocals β all welcome. Backline provided where possible, but bring what you play best.
The session works when everyone listens, leaves space, and supports the song. Lock in before you step out. Feel before flash.
Come to play, watch, learn, or sit in when the moment feels right. Not everyone plays every song β and that's the beauty of it.
The Wine Warehouse hosts tastings, evenings, and special events alongside the sessions.
An evening of fine single malts with a professional taster. Includes whisky tasting, canapΓ©s, drinks, and great company.
Bookings essential!
Book via WhatsAppA good session runs on mutual respect. Here's how we keep the music honest and the vibe right.
Hear the room before you fill it. The best players are the best listeners.
Keep your levels in check. The session is a conversation, not a competition.
Take your turn, give others theirs. No endless solos β leave them wanting more.
The session leader calls the tunes and manages the flow. Follow their lead.
If it's not yours, ask before you touch. Treat shared backline like gold.
Blues is about feel, not speed. Play with emotion. Mean every note.
